Currently, SED supports the
following formats: Quark®, Pagemaker®,
In-design®, Framemaker®, PDF®,
MSWord®, Illustrator®, Photoshop®,
Freehand®, and MS Publisher®.
Once the file is “worked” as described above, it is submitted
to the Nexus® workflow. In this step, the file is RIP’d
(meaning the file is converted to a language that will drive both the
proofer and platesetter), the colors are trapped, and a final file is
created for imposition.
Nexus®, a product of ArtWork
Systems®, is one of the most highly regarded and predominant
systems in the graphic arts industry. We are proud to make Nexus®
an integral part of our refined commercial printing process.
In this step, the RIP’d pages are placed into a template that
has been pre-programmed to lay precisely on the ultimate press sheet.
All considerations of trims, bleeds, lips and size are taken into account.
This consideration ensures that the resultant proof is of the entire
press sheet — not just individual
pages — and that it can be evaluated
for both printing and binding factors.
Serving clients in Pennsylvania, New York,
New Jersey, Delaware, and across the United States, SED’s proofs
truly prove that the job will be successful through subsequent stages.
